We grew up with a very cool “dad” (emphasis on the quotes) who was lucky enough to have many younger acquaintances who turned him on to MODERN ROCK in the early ’80s. As a result, I was able to appreciate R.E.M. from the get-go. Enough so, that we all got pissed off when MTV started playing “The One I Love” in ‘87. They peaked at “Green” and rarely made an impression on me past 1989… but “Electrolite” rulz.

Despite the fact that this commercial played about 798 times a day, I don’t think I ever knew anyone who had a MY BUDDY. Hell, even if I did know a MY BUDDY owner, I woulda probably stayed the fuck away from that goddamn weirdo.
I usually refused to use these Memorex cassettes based on the awful design but I did have a copy of Andrew Dice Clay’s stand up crap on one of these with the censored version of 2 Live Crew on the other side.
